Italo Bressan Biography
Italo Bressan was born in Vezzano (TN). He attended the Brera Academy of Fine Arts, where he has been a painting professor since 1982. Color is the basic element of his research, a color that aims to be pure evocation, a pure mental and sensorial extension. The surface is considered as a tension towards the "beyond", preserving a structural component: each painting is the result of a meticulous arrangement of chromatic spaces. The work he is preparing for the new experience in China will be the synthesis of the path begun many years ago. The subject of this work, which uses shapes and colors, aims to create a moving, "deep and vibrant" image, with a clear contrast of light and shadow. Bressan uses different techniques - oil, watercolors and synthetic enamel - and supports such as glass and paper. Since 1979 he has been the protagonist of numerous solo exhibitions, which were held in cities such as Milan, Rome, Turin, Florence, Basel, Frankfurt and Hamburg.
