Athos Renzo Brioschi (1910 – 2000) was a Milanese painter. Artist specialized in small compositions full of panache and poetic verve which he achieves through a high technique based on fine hatching with an impressionist tendency. His works are characterized by a fine pictorial hatching that gives life to compositions rich in light and colour. The hatching manages to give shape to the objects according to a foundation of natural truth, and, at the same time, highlights all the chromatic and luminous vibrations that the objects themselves have. His paintings can be defined as genre scenes, that is, the representation of an episode of everyday life which, apparently, has no significant element. This type of domestic subject was long considered minor and began to spread in Western art only from the 17th century onwards. Only with the development of nineteenth-century realistic currents were subjects of everyday life considered of the same importance as historical or religious ones.
