Anton Brioschi Artwork valuations, appraisals and auction estimates

Anton Brioschi was born on 30 November 1855 in Vienna and was a renowned landscape painter, graphic designer, decorator and set designer. He studied at the Vienna School of Applied Arts under the
guide of Josef Ritter von Storck, Michael Rieser and Valentin Terich, also spending a year and a half in Munich to follow the lessons of the theater painter Simon Quaglio.
Brioschi began his career as a scene painter at the Hanover Court Theater, which represented his first work experience.
Already the following year he found himself working at the Court Opera in Vienna, together with his father.
Brioschi spent much of his career in Vienna, creating the sets for many important opera productions of the time. Read the full biography

Anton Brioschi Biography

Anton Brioschi was born on 30 November 1855 in Vienna and was a renowned landscape painter, graphic designer, decorator and set designer. He studied at the Vienna School of Applied Arts under the
guide of Josef Ritter von Storck, Michael Rieser and Valentin Terich, also spending a year and a half in Munich to follow the lessons of the theater painter Simon Quaglio.
Brioschi began his career as a scene painter at the Hanover Court Theater, which represented his first work experience.
Already the following year he found himself working at the Court Opera in Vienna, together with his father.
Brioschi spent much of his career in Vienna, creating the sets for many important opera productions of the time. Subsequently, Brioschi accepted many commissions abroad.
Brioschi turned his attention to landscape painting, developing a strong naturalist taste, combined with a careful figurative approach of romantic ancestry.
Anton Brioschi died on 31 August 1920 in Vienna.
