Umberto Brunelleschi, an Italian set designer and painter, was born on June 21, 1879 in Montemurlo and passed away on February 16, 1949 in Paris. He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence and at the Free Academy of Nude Studies. In 1900, he moved to Paris where he exhibited his works at the Salon des Indépendants starting in 1902. He designed sets for theatrical performances in Paris, working with theaters such as the Folies Bergère and the Théâtre du Châtelet. In Italy, he participated in several editions of the Venice Biennale and collaborated with magazines such as "Il Giornalino della Domenica" and "Il Corriere dei Piccoli". He created costumes and sets for shows like "The Magic Carillon" and also worked on international productions in New York and Germany. Additionally, he collaborated with Giacomo Puccini on the costumes for "Turandot."
