An internationally renowned artist, originally from Piedmont but resident in Val d'Aosta since the second half of the 1950s, i.e. from the beginning of his pictorial activity, Bulgarelli was an abstractionist capable of standing out with originality in the panorama of the Italian artistic avant-garde. Politically involved in the Communist Party until the second half of the 1960s, he left a possible political career to dedicate himself entirely to informal art.
