Umberto Buscioni (Bonelle, Pistoia, 1931). In the first period of his artistic career, he worked as a ceramist, until he decided to leave for a trip to Morocco, where he created creations based on the style of the Cobra group. Upon his return, he dedicated himself to surrealist painting and began to exhibit, but was subsequently fascinated by the everyday objects of Pop Art. With a group of artists, he created the Pistoia Group and together with them held numerous collective exhibitions in important Italian and European galleries . In the Seventies he distanced himself from other artists and dedicated himself to the recovery of the mannerist tradition, taking the artist Pontormo as a starting point.
