Julian Leon (xx Sec.) Camargo Biography

Born in Bogotá in 1984, he studied visual arts at the Universidad de los Andes, Bogotá, where he graduated in 2006 with a thesis. His work, always referring to installations, has included a reflection on practices such as painting, writing, drawing and photography, always influenced by the historical research in which he specializes. In 2007 he was invited to participate in The Intricate Journey project in the city of Berlin, an exchange residency organized by the NGBK. Since 2003 he has participated in several collective and individual exhibitions in Colombia, Germany and Argentina where he is currently studying for a Master's degree in Latin American Art History at the Institute of Higher Social Studies of the University of San Martin. In 2013 he was chosen to participate in the artistic program of the Art Department of the Torcuato di Tella University of Buenos Aires. In 2014 he founded ESPACIO KAMM, an exhibition hall for site-specific projects in Buenos Aires together with German artist Kirsten Mosel. In 2015 he was invited to participate in the 4th edition of the End of the World Biennial in the city of Valparaiso, Chile.
