Battista Camplani, born in Iseo on 9 May 1887 and died on 13 August 1957, was a lawyer who practiced his profession only sporadically. An engineer officer in the First World War, he dedicated himself to painting only after the Second World War, becoming a pupil of Arturo Bianchi and therefore a follower of realism. He created portraits, however, his greatest source of inspiration was Lake Iseo, a subject present in several paintings, now in private hands. He also wrote plays and a novel, which however remained unfinished.
