The Neapolitan painter Maurizio Cannavacciulo was born in Naples in 1954. The artist has been active on the international scene since the end of the 70s. His works tend towards figurative art, giving ample space to narrative supported by an elaborate pictorial style and the skilful use of the most classic of techniques: oil on canvas. The aim of his painting is "to attract like a spider in its beautiful and glittering web of dew drops that shine in the first sun to hide the true face of the lurking end". In Cannavacciuolo's art the symbolism is never excessive. Italy Maurizio CannavacciuloThe artist himself defines his works as "machine à penser". Its ultimate aim is a declared intent to induce the viewer to slow down perception, to enjoy the most intimate fibers that only a clear effort, free from determined concepts, can achieve.
