Ugo Capocchini (1901 - 1980). He studied art at the Academy of Florence and his debut was in the footsteps of the great Italian fifteenth-sixteenth century masters. After the war, classicism was supplanted by a freer and more restless, less academic figurativism, with clear expressionist and Picasso-like tendencies. The colors he chooses are dark and dense and everything reveals rigor and overall compositional balance.
