Paolo Caponi Biography
Paolo Caponi (1957 - ) was born in Santa Maria a Monte, Pisa in 1957. He completed his studies in Florence, graduating from the Art School and subsequently graduating from the Faculty of Architecture. In parallel with his architectural studies, the Painter began his creative career in 1975. Since then, he has rigorously participated in numerous painting competitions, won important prizes and organized numerous personal exhibitions in the towns and cities of Tuscany. His work has been discussed in writing by art critics Dino Carlesi, Claudio Codecasa, Mario Meozzi, Salvatore Amodei, Luciano Marcucci, Riccardo Ferrucci, Mario Lepri, Mara Ferloni, Laura Mercuri and Roberto Milani. His paintings are frequently exhibited in important art exhibitions, and currently collaborates with galleries and art houses that widely promote his works, both in Italy and abroad. The artist resides and works in a rural area not far from S. Maria a Monte, an ancient fortified medieval settlement on the top of a hill historically disputed by Florence, Lucca and Pisa. In the last decade he has combined figurative painting with avant-garde artistic research, whose results of volumetric, geometric and coloristic synthesis have redefined the interpretation of his figurative painting in general.
