Paola Caracciolo was a well-known Italian painter, born in Florence in 1919. Very persevering and determined, she acquired a completely self-taught education based on the study of Renaissance artists and painting prior to Antonello da Messina. For this reason, many of his works are executed on wood using tempera. The painter was influenced by the Flemish and Spanish schools, with the latter transmitting to her the sense of decay and death, always present even in the most grotesque compositions. Paola Caracciolo has held several personal exhibitions, including that of 1950 in Rome, Milan and Livorno. Furthermore, he also participated in several official exhibitions including the Rome Quadrennial. His style was characterized by a keen sense of color and light, combined with a great attention to form and composition. Her work has been widely praised for its originality and its ability to capture the emotional essence of the subjects depicted, through a personal interpretation of the world around her.
