Armando Torrandell Cardona (Barcelona, ​​1928 - 1995). He graduated in Literature but from 1957 he dedicated himself to painting and inaugurated his solo exhibition. He follows the scenography courses held at the Theater Institute of Barcelona and the ceramic courses in Valencia. In 1970 he participated in the Venice Biennale, exhibiting a stage production and in the following years, he worked to set up sets for shows by Brecht and Arrabal. During the period of the seventies, his paintings characterized by the lean and fast line, are directed towards the figurativeness that represents political denunciation. He wins the IX Joan Mirò International Drawing Award and other important awards. The fixed constant of Cardona's art remains unchanged in the taste for collage, in the proliferation of forms on the canvas. His career was abruptly interrupted in the 1980s due to illness.
