Enrico Castellani (Castelmassa, 1930). He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Brussels and in 1956 he graduated in Architecture at the Ecole Nationale Sùperieure de la Cambre. Returning to Italy, he settled in Milan, where together with Pietro Manzoni, he founded the magazine Azimuth and participated in the meetings of the Zero and Nul groups. At the beginning of the 1950s, his debut is witnessed by an informal painting, influenced by Action Painting, but also by Fontana's monochrome surfaces. In the Seventies he worked on architectural-artistic installations. In 1964, 1966, 1984 and 2003, he participated in the Venice Biennale, in 1965 he exhibited in a collective exhibition at the MoMA in New York and at the Sao Paulo Biennial, Brazil.
