Dino Castelvecchi Biography
Born in Molazzana, Lucca in 1935, Dino Castelvecchi likes to define himself as "self-taught". At a very young age he applied himself to ceramics, drawing and painting by attending prof. Giorgio Ferrero from whom he will draw the teaching and technical knowledge to develop his own individual and artistic path. From 1984 to 1992 he carried out an intense exhibition activity, linking himself exclusively to the "A per A" gallery in Florence, the prestigious Cultural Center frequented by the "historical avant-gardes" of those years, which became for him a point of reference, of cultural enrichment and comparison with other artists of his age, the intense debates, the intellectual and idea clashes, led him to find affinities with some of them, in particular with Alberto Morelli and Ivano Vitali with whom he founded the “ARF Group” (Arte Ricerca) in 1992 , Florence) a movement linked to the research and technical experimentation of new languages and materials, and to the recovery of the objet trouvé, to merge them into new expressive forms. His works can be found in important private collections such as those of Giulio Einaudi, Giuliano Gori, Alberto Pecci, and numerous other Italian and foreign collectors. Furthermore, his works can be found in public collections.
