Amleto Cataldi, born in Naples in 1882, spent the majority of his life in Rome where he received his initial artistic training from his sculptor father. Demonstrating exceptional talent in sculptural techniques from a young age, he successfully exhibited his works in various national and international exhibitions. His high-quality and original bronze and marble sculptures garnered official recognition and prestigious public commissions. Cataldi also took part in significant artistic events such as the Venice Biennale and the Centenary Exhibition in Buenos Aires. Despite his talent and fame during his lifetime, the artist passed away in 1930. Among his most acclaimed works are the bronze sculptural group "Transport to Paradise," the statue of Saint Anthony Maria Zaccaria for the Milan Cathedral, and the bronze Pietà. Cataldi's works can be found in museums and private collections in Italy and abroad, showcasing his artistic skill and sensitivity. However, his legacy remains relatively obscure and little known in contemporary art circles.
