Alessandro Catuogno Biography
Alessandro Catuogno is a photographer and, more recently, a painter. Born in Capri to a family of fishermen, from an early age he was in constant contact with the sea, sometimes as a fisherman, sometimes as a diver, but also as a sportsman and sailor. At the same time, Alessandro is driven by his passion for beauty to the point of wanting to immortalise it, approaching the photographic art which he got to know through his meeting with the photographer Lorenzo Bortone. Although his photographic works are very varied, his favorite subjects remain those linked, as mentioned, to the sea from which he has never released his own special bond. The favorite subjects from which he seems to draw most inspiration are stormy seas where the impetus of nature's force and emotional intensity are evident, but he is equally skilled in the representations of calmer landscapes. Even today, his art is constantly evolving, always looking for that detail that can make the work ever closer to perfection. In recent years, in fact, thanks to the teachings of his father-in-law and driven by a tireless curiosity, Alessandro Catuogno has turned his interest towards painting.
