Ezio Ceccarelli was an Italian sculptor born in Montecatini Val di Cecina on July 27, 1865 and died in Volterra on December 27, 1927. He lived primarily in Florence, where he attended the Academy of Fine Arts. He was known for creating several public monuments and exhibiting in various national and international shows. His sculptures in marble and patinated terracotta were particularly acclaimed, and he collaborated with various Italian and French manufacturers. One of his students was his cousin Pietro Ceccarelli, who also became a successful sculptor in both Tuscany and Venezuela.
