Niccolò Cecconi (Florence 1835 - Florence 1901) was an Italian painter, son of the well-known Giuseppe Cecconi. From 1851 he attended the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence, where he began his activity as a copyist of ancient works in the Florentine galleries. Subsequently he dedicated himself to portraiture, as demonstrated by his Portrait of C. Collodi in uniform, from 1859, preserved in the Cabinet of Prints and Drawings of the Uffizi, and to genre painting.
His participation in exhibitions began in 1861, but intensified after 1870. His pleasant and light themes, such as "The Flower of Love" (1871), "The First Impressions" (1872) and "An Article by Yorick" (1880), found favor with the public. In 1883 he exhibited “Il contrabass dello uncle” in Rome, while the following year he participated in the General Exhibition of Turin with “To my queen”.
