Rodolfo Ceccotti Biography
Rodolfo Ceccotti (1945 - ) Painter and engraver, was born in Florence in 1945. For about ten years he has lived and worked in the countryside near Rufina. He was self-taught and attended the Pistelli and Edigrafica laboratories in Florence. He began his chalcographic activity in 1970, showing a particular predilection for etching. His intaglio corpus has over 115 matrices. Landscape subjects recur in his works. He prints on his own and at the Edigrafica and Il Bisonte printers in Florence. Professor at the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence and Carrara, now retired, he has been Artistic Director of the Il Bisonte Foundation in Florence for twenty years. Since 2008 he has held some solo exhibitions, the latest of which were in China, at the University of Oil Painting in Beijing, in the Cui Zhen Kuan Mei Shn Guan Museum in Xi An and in the municipality of Pontassieve, Sala delle Colonne. Furthermore, he participated in the collective exhibitions set up at: Museo dell'Agro Veientano, Formello (RM) 2008; St. Petersburg (RUS) 2010; Diego Martelli Art Center, Castiglioncello (LI) 2010; Il Bisonte Foundation, Florence 2010, 2012; Cloister of the Franciscan Friars, Caluso (MI) 2011; University Library, Turin 2011.
