Orazio Celeghin (1906 - 1984) was born in Limena, Padua in 1906. He moved with his family to Asolo (Treviso) in around 1912. From 1922 to 1925 he attended special courses at the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice under the guidance of the painter Ettore Tito. In 1925-26 he collaborated with the master Guido Cadorin on the frescoes of the Ambasciatori hotel in Rome, as well as on the graffiti of the Royal hotel in Viareggio. In 1926 he collaborated again with the master Guido Cadorin to complete the frescoes in the church of Vidor (Treviso). From 1928 to 1933 he was Cadorin's voluntary assistant at the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice. In 1933 he collaborated with Cadorin on the frescoes of the Post Office building in Gorizia and in 1935, on the frescoes of the Casa d'Italia in Brussels. From 1936 to 1940 he created various sets for the Teatro la Fenice in Venice until 1954. From 1922 he always resided in Venice until 1954, with periodic stays in the house in Valdobbiadene (Treviso). He died in Montebelluna on 21 September 1984.
