Angelo Celeste Biography
Angelo Celeste was born in S. Croce di Magliano in 1954. He studied in Bologna, where he currently lives and works. He began his artistic career in the 1980s by participating in exhibitions of great importance. Among these, we remember: Prefabricated Painting, a solo exhibition at the Galleria Ferrari in Verona in 1983; The archaics of the end of the century, a group show at the Atra Studio in Milan in 1983; Archaic Abstraction, at the Municipal Gallery of Modern Art of Verona in 1984; The abstract secession of the 80s between archaism and construction, in Umbertide in 1986 edited by Giorgio Cortenova; XI Rome Art Quadrennial, at the Palazzo dei Congressi in Rome in 1986; Energy and Lyrism, together with Turcato, Dorazio, Pinelli, Verna at the Galleria Il Milione in Milan in 1987; Between heaven and earth with Miresi and others at Studio La Città in Verona in January '88; Abstract - Abstract secessions in Italy from the post-war period to 1990, at the Gallery of Modern Art in Verona also in 1988.
In 1991 he exhibited “Colore ssolutoto” at the Spazio Mercanzia in Bologna. Starting in 1998, he introduced ceramics into his work, a sector in which he has taught for 25 years at the Liceo Artistico Statale in Bologna. In December 2011, “Color Design” appears as the title of a retrospective exhibition at the P. Nanni gallery in Bologna.
