Vincenzo Censotti Biography

Vincenzo Censotti (1913 - 2005), a master of Tuscan origin, moved to Veneto at the end of the 1940s. He studied with the painter Gianni Vagnetti and the sculptor Libero Andreotti at the Art Institute of Florence. He was born in Foiano della Chiana, province of Arezzo, in 1932, while Treviso was his city until his death in 2005. During his artistic career he participated in numerous personal and collective exhibitions in cities such as Florence, Siena, Arezzo, Venice , Treviso, Conegliano Veneto, Padua, Vicenza and others divided between Italy and abroad. He carried out works in the Palmanova cathedral and in the Frascineto church. His works can be found in public institutions in Treviso, Ponte di Piave, Palmanova, Conegliano Veneto and Macerata. In 2017 the art critic and curator Alain Chivilò organized a posthumous personal exhibition, bringing Vincenzo Censotti back to Treviso after many years. In the prestigious venue of Casa dei Carraresi, from 5 to 12 February, the exhibition "Vincenzo Censotti Private Landscapes" proposes the landscape process of the Tuscan-Treviso master with around twenty works.
