Karina Chechik Biography

Karina Chechik (Buenos Aires, 1966) graduated in Painting from the Prilidiano Pueyrredon National School of Fine Arts in Buenos Aires in 1989.
In 1995 she moved to Miami, where she lived until 2007. She was an artist in residence at ArtCenter South Florida and was active in the Miami art community.
His work has been exhibited in museums, galleries, universities and international art fairs throughout the United States, Latin America and Europe. Chechik is currently working on two major exhibitions: the first is a large-format installation for the “Amazing Nature” exhibition, commissioned by the Silkeborg Art Center in Denmark. His second project is a solo exhibition entitled “Migrating Lights” in Rome in conjunction with Rome Art Week. In 2021, Chechik created the #HereComesHope series, which was exhibited at the Week of the Arts, organized by the Casa d'Arte San Lorenzo in Sardinia.
His works can be found in important public and private collections around the world. Chechik is a professor of painting and art history at the National Museum of Decorative Arts in Buenos Aires. He has also held conferences at major museums, universities and institutions in Argentina, the United States and Italy.
He currently lives between Buenos Aires and Turin and often exhibits his works in the United States.
