Giuseppe Chiarolanza Artwork valuations, appraisals and auction estimates

Giuseppe Chiarolanza was born in Miano on 17 March 1864 and studied at the Royal Institute of Fine Arts in Naples starting from 1881, under the guidance of the landscape painter Alfonso Simonetti. He developed a particular interest in landscape painting, acquiring considerable fame for his ability to represent trees and woods, as demonstrated by the famous representations of the Capodimonte forest. Giuseppe Chiarolanza was born in Miano on 17 March 1864 and studied at the Royal Institute of Fine Arts in Naples starting from 1881, under the guidance of the landscape painter Alfonso Simonetti. He developed a particular interest in landscape painting, acquiring considerable fame for his ability to represent trees and woods, as demonstrated by the famous representations of the Capodimonte forest. He was a careful observer of nature and the variations of light, which he then translated into his stain painting.
In 1890, Chiarolanza was commissioned to collaborate on the decoration of the Caffè Gambrinus in Naples, together with other painters. Some of his paintings were purchased by the Royal House, while others are today in the art gallery of the Capodimonte Museum.
Giuseppe Chiarolanza died in Naples on 8 January 1920.
