Born on 6 November 1966 in Modena, he lives and works in San Pancrazio (Mo). He was formed by frequenting the punk counterculture and independent music scene of the first half of the 1980s. In this cultural environment he made his debut working as a designer for various independent publications and exhibiting in social centres. In this first period he created works on paper with purplish-black inks in which characters, figures and environments appear linked in various aspects to that world which he frequented directly. Subsequently he developed research on contemporary landscape, on time and memory through a rigorous and careful oil painting on canvas, which sometimes tends to enhance industrial or urban landscape subjects, or to create strong contrasts in black and white with rapid transition from shadow to penumbra. The activity of drawing with the ink technique is carried out in parallel with oil painting, creating a contrast between a liquid and moving universe and another more structured, metaphysical, timeless one.
