Cisari Born in Como in 1892, graduated in architecture from the Brera Academy, but devoted himself mainly to painting, woodcutting, and illustration. Attracted to color, he began by painting landscapes with a dense and suggestive technique, later focusing on black and white to become an expert woodcutter. Throughout his career, he created over a thousand covers for various publishers, including Mondadori, and illustrated numerous books and posters. He participated in important national and international exhibitions, winning numerous awards, and received decorations of valor for his service as a voluntary officer in the Bersaglieri during both world wars. He passed away in 1972 in Milan, where he is buried, and his works are held in numerous public and private collections in Italy and abroad.
