Leonardo Coccorante, born in Naples on 8 November 1680, was an Italian landscape painter.
The painter was primarily remembered for his use of imaginary architectural perspective, depicting ancient ruins as the subject and small figures in the foreground to emphasize the grandeur of the setting.
Coccorante worked for a long time with Charles of Bourbon, king of the Two Sicilies, creating views and decorations for the Royal Palace of Caserta. He also found important clients abroad, particularly in France, Spain and England, but also in Italy, in Naples in particular.
Leonardo Coccorante died in Naples in 1750.
