Cometti Biography
Valerio Cometti (1975 - ) is a designer who collaborates with internationally prestigious brands, he designed the Bright glass desk for FIAM. He graduated in Mechanical Engineering at the Polytechnic of Milan in 1975 and returned from Australia in 2005 to found the Valerio Cometti+V12 Design studio. In a very short time, combining the sensitivity of the designer with the vision of the engineer, Cometti undertook prestigious collaborations. In 2006 he was chosen to take care of the relaunch of Brionvega and shortly thereafter, a season of intense collaborations began with ITre, Luxit and Leucos, from which important lamps were born: Katana and Bow. In 2008, Valerio Cometti took up the legacy of Castiglioni, Bonetto and Sottsass, becoming the designer of the most famous coffee machines in the world: LaCimbali and Faema. In 2010, fertile collaborations began in the world of fine furniture alongside the historic Riva1920 brand and in the outdoor world together with Corradi SpA. In 2012, Valerio Cometti, together with the architect Paolo Balzanelli, revealed the intense project of the museum MuMaC in Milan, the largest museum in the world dedicated to the history of coffee machines. It is an imposing and elegant architecture commissioned by the Cimbali Group to celebrate its centenary and the prestigious historical collection of Enrico Maltoni. Also during 2012, new important collaborations were born with important brands such as FIAM, Bialetti and SanPatrignano.
