Toni Cordero Biography
Toni Cordero was born in Lanzo Torinese in 1937, graduated in Architecture in Turin and opened his first studio in 1962. He deals with architectural design, we remember, with Hutter, Ossola and Majowiecki, the "Delle Alpi" Stadium in Turin, in 1997, the building, with advanced wood technologies, in the Mandria park in Turin and, in 1998, the factory of Staff International in Noventa-Vicenza. Among the numerous, important creations in the field of interior architecture we mention: in 1977, the Olivetti offices in Ivrea; in 1981, the chain of stores in Europe and the USA for Kenzo; in 1982, the renovation of Gio Ponti's Palazzo Montecatini in Milan and the transformation of a building of worship in London into a gallery and guesthouse; in 1983, the restorations of the Hotel Splendido in Portofino and Marini in via del Tritone in Rome; in 1984 the restoration of the Palazzo di Banco Mediceo del Filarete in via dei Bossi in Milan; in 1986, the boardrooms for the Fiat management offices in Corso Marconi in Turin; in 1987, the project for the reorganization and extension of the Turin Automobile Museum; in 1989, the Blumarine store on Via della Spiga in Milan and the CP Company store in New York; in 1990, the Alberto Biani store in Paris; 1994, the renovation of the offices and showroom for New York Industries in Milan. In terms of furniture and lighting design he has worked, among others, for Acerbis, Driade, Artemide and Sawaya & Moroni. He died in Turin in April 2001.
