Jacobus Ludovicus Cornet (1815 Leiden - 1882), also known by his initials as JL Cornet, was a Dutch painter and draftsman. He often depicted Dutch historical scenes and figures (particularly from the Dutch "Golden Age")
Cornet, practically self-taught, also painted portraits, landscapes, interiors and a large number of other subjects.
From 1851 until his death in 1882, he was head of the Prentenkabinet (Prints Cabinet) in Leiden.

He was one of the founders of the Lakenhal museum in Leiden. He was also director of the Leiden artists' society Ars Aemula Naturae and a member of the Amsterdam artists' society Arti et Amicitiae.
Some of his works are preserved at the Lakenhal museum, at the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam.
