Angelo Costa, born in Genoa in 1858 and died in the same city in 1911, was an Italian painter who completed his studies at the Accademia Ligustica di Belle Arti in Genoa. Starting from 1879 he participated in the exhibitions of the Genoese Promoter, with various works representative of the Ligurian landscapes, the port panoramas and of Courmayeur where he lived in adulthood. Angelo Costa, born in Genoa in 1858 and died in the same city in 1911, was an Italian painter who completed his studies at the Accademia Ligustica di Belle Arti in Genoa. Starting from 1879 he participated in the exhibitions of the Genoese Promoter, with various works representative of the Ligurian landscapes, the port panoramas and of Courmayeur where he lived in adulthood. In 1892, he presented some of his works in the Columbian Exposition, receiving considerable success. Costa, a painter influenced by the artistic cultural context of the 19th century and the post-impressionist era, was part of the "Sturla Group" and the "Genoese Artistic Family".
In 1893, he received the position of Academician of Merit at the Ligustica of Genoa. Some of his works are kept at the Modern Art Gallery of Genoa Nervi, at the Risorgimento Museum and at the Naval Museum of Villa Doria in Genoa-Pegli.
The painter died in Genoa in 1911.
