Born in Reggio Emilia on 27 August 1874. Brother of Giovanni Costetti, he is an artist of healthy and delicate sensitivity. In his monotypes he possesses and employs in a way that adheres to pictorial emotion the process that he has notable followers in England and America. At the First Roman Biennial in 1921, a series of these works was praised, including "Caldarroste"; "Types of socialites"; "The washerwomen". He exhibited in numerous Italian and foreign exhibitions. Works: "Spring", in the Pinacoteca of Reggio Emilia; "Terra tosca" with which he competed for the Ussi Prize in Florence in 1919. At the Florentine Spring Exhibition of 1922 he was present with the oil paintings: "Via piania"; "Stonebreaker"; "Butchery"; "Head of the Painter"; "Figures in the twilight" (tempera); "The Maids"; "The Maid"; "Butchers"; "Le ciane"; "The limonara"; "Fishmongers"; "The Carrier"; "Popular"; "The Painter and the Honourable". Like his brother, he was among the so-called avant-garde painters. Etched.
