Dante Baldelli & Corrado Cagli Biography
In 1927, thanks to the fundamental contribution of Dante Baldelli and Corrado Cagli, young students of the Academy of Fine Arts in Via di Ripetta in Rome, the company immediately established itself as an innovator in the national manufacturing panorama. Their products, leaving the production plants, bore traces of the most advanced artistic trends of the time, formally combining primitivism, futurism, rationalism, art deco and the influences of the Bauhaus.
In this golden age, numerous works of art emerged, some made with the famous Nero Fratta, an iridescent metallic color born by chance, which made Rometti's works highly sought after at a European level. Despite ups and downs, the company survived all the great social and political upheavals of the 20th century, continuing to produce objects of excellent quality. These are exhibited in the section dedicated to the '50s and '60s, despite the initial push for renewal that had brought about success before the Second World War had weakened.
