Achille De Dominicis was an Italian painter born in Tivoli in 1851 and died in 1917. He learned the first rudiments of art from his father, an amateur painter. Subsequently he moved to Rome where, under the guidance of Filippo Prosperi, he attended courses at the Academy of Fine Arts specializing in landscape and genre subjects.
His paintings found favor with art dealers who pushed him to increase his production through the reproduction of the most popular subjects.
In 1881 he joined the Society of Watercolorists of Rome. He exhibited his paintings several times at the Society's annual exhibitions.
Among his merits, it should also be remembered that he initiated his favorite nephew, Angelo Rossi, into painting, who also became a talented artist and in 1921 joined the Gruppo dei XXV della Campagna Romana.
