Fausto de Lima, who has been called "the Spanish artist who fell into oblivion", was born in Madrid in 1923 and died in Alcalá de Henares in 1994. He studied art at the Academy of Fine Arts in Madrid, however, he initially pursued a career in journalism and was an art critic for almost two decades before dedicating himself to painting with passion. He took part in an exhibition at the Ateneo Gallery in Palma de Mallorca, the city and port of Mallorca, in 1958, winning an award.
