De Sede Biography
De Sede (1965 - ) The company's history begins in a small artisan workshop in Klingnau, Switzerland. In 1965, the family-run business took the name de Sede, and began to record its first commercial successes. The range of hand-crafted leather chairs, sofas and armchairs was immediately appreciated, and the arrival of increasingly elegant models only increased the brand's reputation. Since the 1980s, collaborations with designers from all over Europe have multiplied, such as Reto Rigg, Santiago Calatrava and Mathias Hoffman. Today, de Sede is a mature entrepreneurial reality, which employs over 140 workers and markets furniture in more than 40 countries around the world, from the United States to Russia, without neglecting the Arab markets and emerging countries. De Sede's commercial proposal follows the various dimensions of designer furniture: from the sleeping area to the garden, from offices to restaurants and public places. The company's success is certified by the numerous appreciations that the markets have reserved for its products. The DS-1000 chaise longue, designed by Ulrich Kössl, represents one of the company's flagship products. It is precisely the use of leather upholstery that constitutes the common denominator of de Sede's offering.
