Born in Barletta on 13 August 1893, died in Milan on 15 May 1955. He studied in Naples and began to paint, moving to Milan, developing the data of the strictest Neapolitan tradition. His works appeared in numerous exhibitions of the Promoter of Fine Arts and at the first Neapolitan Biennial in 1921. He then painted the Ticino landscape and the Lombard countryside; he also went to Venice and portrayed the lagoon. In February 1943 he held his first solo exhibition in Milan with around eighty paintings. He then moved to Lake Como and remained there for a few years: in June 1946 he exhibited thirty impressions from life there. After the war he returned to Milan, where he resumed his mild existence of work and excursions. A posthumous one, presented by Giorgio Nicodemi, was made in February 1957 at the Galleria Cordusio, with 57 oil paintings chosen to represent his pictorial production. His painting "The coachman and via Caracciolo" is preserved in the Irpino Museum, in the former Bourbon prison of Avellino, in the provincial art gallery.
