Hugo Demarco was born in Buenos Aires in 1932, where he taught painting and drawing until 1957. Here he began his exhibition activity with participation in two group exhibitions in 1956 and 1959. In 1959 he made his first trip to Paris. These are the years of his first optical-kinetic works and his interactions with the artists who gravitate around the Galerie Denise René, where in 1961 he held his first solo exhibition. In 1963 he obtained a scholarship from the French government and moved permanently to Paris. Participate in all events on movement, kinetic and programmed art and the New Trend. Demarco also makes numerous films: “Le Mouvement” short film made by Bruyn in 1966; “Lumière et mouvement” for French television in 1967; “Kinetic Art, Demarco” for Argentine television in 1969; a creation for Venezuelan television in 1970; “Art Cinétique” for French television in 1977. Disappears in Paris in 1995.
