Carlo Desireau Biography

Carlo Desireau was born in Florence in 1921 and began to be noticed in the art world in the 1950s, participating in various exhibitions with the "Numero" gallery and taking part in numerous initiatives of the "il Moro" group. In the following years he continued to exhibit his work in various contexts, including the "Homage to Magnelli" exhibition in Florence and Paris and several themed exhibitions promoted by MAGI in Pieve di Cento (Bologna). In 2005 he held a solo exhibition at the "Faceto Art Gallery" in Shanghai, China.
Desireau has always chosen to follow an artistic path that does not stray from his original Florentine inspiration, always remaining faithful to the component of classical Florentine abstractionism that he had embraced since he was young. This constant attachment to tradition was also recognized by Vinicio Berti, who praised the "constant tenacity" that Desireau's work demonstrates. Despite having experimented with new forms of expression in his painting, such as neoconcretism, his adherence to the canons of structuralist constructivism has never been denied, thus demonstrating his artistic coherence over the years.
