Umberto Di Lazzaro was born in 1898. His biography remains largely unknown, however, it is known that during the 1930s he carried out an intense artistic activity in Rome, focused exclusively on the production of advertising posters for events and airlines. His graphic style, influenced by monumental aesthetics, was particularly suitable for promoting the famous "flights" and "air cruises". Among the most notable examples stands out the "Manifesto for the transatlantic air cruise" of 1930, which portrays Savoia Marchetti type S 55 seaplanes equipped with 550 hp Fiat type A 22 R engines, flying between Rome and South America. Umberto Di Lazzaro died in 1968.
