Dodo, pseudonym of Dörte Clara Wolff, is a German painter and illustrator of the New Objectivity. In the period from 1923 to 1926, Dodo studied art and fashion illustration at the prestigious Schule Reimann for artists and designers. Her artistic career began as a fashion illustrator, designing costumes for publications such as "Revue Es liegt in der Luft di Mischa Spoliansky". Dodo reached the peak of his artistic career between 1927 and 1930, creating genre scenes about high society during the Weimar Republic. More than 60 of his intensely colorful gouaches were published in the German satirical magazine ULK. Postwar, Dodo worked on still lifes, landscapes, and nude studies, also completing a series of tapestries to his own design. Dodo's artistic commitment was discovered in 2009, thanks to the collaboration between the Dodo estate, Renate Krümmer, art collector and art dealer, and Adelheid Rasche of the National Museums of Berlin. In 1998, Dodo died in London.
