Dolf Van Roy (1858 – 1943) was a Belgian painter. He mainly painted landscapes, interiors, nudes and portraits. He was a member of the small and lesser-known Brussels artists' group L'Élan, which was active around 1911 and held a group exhibition in that year. He is also listed as the architect of the artist's house (1911) by Pol Parmentier at 47 Toulouse Straat in Brussels. He has lived and worked mainly in Brussels all his life. His output includes sumptuous bouquets of flowers, carefully composed still lifes and river views. Perhaps under the influence of Alfred Stevens, he also painted nudes and richly dressed fashionable women in their boudoir, surrounded by furniture and precious objects. His work is characterized by an impressionistic touch and a warm color palette. Van Roy, among others, exhibited at the Antwerp Triennial Salon in 1903 and at the Esposizione Générale des Beaux-Art in Brussels in 1907 with The Letter, In Thoughts, Study of the Nude. His works are preserved in the Royal Museums of Fine Arts in Antwerp, in the Royal Museums of Fine Arts of Belgium in Brussels, in the Musée d'Art Moderne et d'Art Contemporain in Liège and at the Jakob Smits Museum in Mol.
