David Drebin Biography

David Drebin was born in 1950 in Toronto.
He is a multimodal artist and graduate of Parsons School of Design in New York. He deals with different art forms and produces limited edition works such as photographs, lightboxes, neon installations and diamond dust works. Following his first solo exhibition at Camera Work in Berlin in 2005 and the publication of his first full-length picture book "Love and Other Stories" in 2007, Drebin has received worldwide representation from some of the best international galleries.
Drebin's works of art, also known as "Drebins", are unique and clearly identifiable as being of his own making. His artistic style is often described as epic, dramatic and, above all, cinematic. Drebin has published seven books with the teNeues publishing house, including "The Morning After", "Beautiful Disasters", "Chasing Paradise", "Dreamscapes", "Love and Lights", "Before They Were Famous" and the most recent " Collectors Edition", a limited edition in oversized format created as a gift for collectors of his works around the world. His work combines voyeuristic and psychological viewpoints in a unique way, offering the viewer a dramatic insight into the emotions and experiences that many of us have surely felt at some point in our lives.
