Giuseppe Casalini was born in Forlì in 1887 and was the owner of the "Casalini" cabinet making factory, already active in Faenza since 1836. Around 1890 he began the production of decorative ceramic tiles, intended to decorate his own furniture production. He was a friend and student of the sculptor Domenico Baccarini and around the middle of the first decade of the twentieth century, until 1926, he entrusted the management of the factory to Giovanni Guerrini. In 1928 he was given the opportunity to create the Sirens fountain in Cattolica. He died in Faenza in 1957.
