Arthur Edwards, born 1930, was an international design consultant with manufacturing clients in Europe, America and Asia. Many of his designs are still in production and are available in furniture stores around the world. He studied at the Royal College of Art in London and was recognized as a Fellow of the British Chartered Society of Designers and a member of the American Society of Designers. He was an authority on the design of 18th- and 19th-century European period furniture for modern homes, also dedicating his life to the study of the ergonomics of furniture design. His designs, including the use of materials such as rush, have won numerous international awards. Arthur Edwards passed away in 2009.
