Ferencz Franz Eisenhut (1857 - 1903) was an important Hungarian painter, who specialized in orientalist-style portraits.
He is considered one of the most representative painters and artists of the Austro-Hungarian Empire of the second half of the 19th century.
Among his most famous and recognizable works are “The Death of Gül Baba”, “The Battle of Zenta”, “The Slave Trade” and “The Cockfight”, which mainly depict themes related to the East.
His works are represented in an extremely realistic way, with a taste for detail and intense and lively chromaticism. They can be found in many European museums and private collections
