Jan Ekselius (1946 - ), born 1946, is a Swedish furniture designer. Ekselius was one of the leading Swedish furniture designers of the 1960s and 1970s and the Etceerà Chair is certainly one of his best-known works. Conceived at just 20 years old while he was a student at the Royal College of Art in London, it had an international breakthrough. In 1978 he designed the Accent lamp series for Orrefors and in 1982 the Victor chair for JOC Möbler in Vetlanda. Ekselius started his company in 1984 with a focus on designing furniture for public spaces. Among other things, he designed the Symfoni office series 1994-1998 and the Rubber armchair in 2002 for the Italian Crassevig.
