Luciano Ercoli Biography
Luciano Ercoli, also known as André Colbert, was born in Rome in 1929 and was a famous Italian director, screenwriter and film producer. He entered the world of cinema in the early 1950s as assistant director in the film "Captain Fantasma", directed by Primo Zeglio. Subsequently, during the 1960s, Ercoli concentrated on film production and produced several famous films. However, in 1970 he decided to make his directorial debut with the film "Forbidden Photos of a Respectable Lady", which he also produced and edited.
Luciano Ercoli has participated in the production of many Franco-Italian co-productions, including "Fantomas", "Le Gentleman de Cocody" and "Furia à Bahia per OSS 117". He also produced two films with Totò and three productions by Duccio Tessari. His directorial career continued with numerous other films, including "Too Much Risk for a Lone Man" in 1973 and "Son of the Buried Alive" in 1974, the latter directed under the pseudonym André Colbert. His latest film, "La Bidonata", also known as "The Big Ripoff", was released as an extra on the DVD release of the Italian thriller "Colt 38 Special Squad". Luciano Ercoli left an important mark on Italian cinema during his career and remains an important figure in the national cinema scene.
