Giovanni Estienne (1848 - 1911) was an artist born in Florence, active between the nineteenth and twentieth centuries with works of figures and social commentary.
He undertook his studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence, making his debut with a portrait he signed in 1861. He dedicated himself mostly to genre paintings, still lifes and portraits.
He has exhibited mainly in Milan where he exhibited “Residues of a meal”, in Turin (at the Promotrice Torinese).
In 1870 at the Parma exhibition he presented the paintings “Hunting”, “The Expenditure of the Kitchen” and “A Burner”.
